On June 20, 2018, International Refugee Day, CBC’s The Current aired So They Can Rest A Little. This is a moving documentary on the fate of Yazidi women tortured, persecuted and sold into slavery by their ISIS captors following a genocide in Iraq in August 2014. Following this show produced by Pacinthe Mattar, Majed El Shafie (One Free World International) and I were both interviewed by host Anna Maria Tremonti. I discussed the challenges of working therapeutically with these women and the creative attempts to help them heal and rest a little. Listen to the full interview below (my segment begins after 5 minutes, 50 seconds).
